How do you combine food and health on a daily basis? How to identify eating behaviors that harm our health, vitality and balance? The first choice is above all to give yourself time to get information and get advice from professionals.

Dietitian | Nutritionnist and Dietetics

The dietitian-nutritionist is often considered as a professional who develops weight loss and draconian diets.

However, this is far from being true ...

The PUFSD (Professional Union of French Speaking Dietitians) defines the dietitian - Nutritionist as the food specialist who supports you in your process of improving or maintaining health.

The dietitian is a paramedical who gives individual dietary advice tailored to the patient's needs. He has a coaching role for people who encounter eating or health disorders. He therefore assesses the patient on his lifestyle, sex, age, and size, to offer him a personalized diet program. Its purpose is to know the eating habits of its client, to adapt the diet to the needs of each individual, to guarantee follow-up and support and to develop food plans while promoting gastronomy. So forget about strict and monotonous diets and the list of prohibited foods!

Dietitians are the only health professionals specially trained to act in the field of the practical daily application of scientifically established nutritional criteria.

Dietetics comes from the Greek "diaeta" and means "diet".

Dietetics is the science that studies food in all its details and the implications of food for health. It therefore implies knowledge and mastery of:

  • The physiology of nutrition: digestion, absorption and use of nutrients by the body;
  • The composition of food;
  • Culinary preparation techniques and knowledge of multiple gastronomies;
  • Industrial food manufacturing processes;
  • Food hygiene and means of preserving food;
  • Pathologies linked to nutrition and their medical and dietary management.

Why consult a dietitian-nutritionist?
